Drywall Repair

Holes, cracks, and damaged wall or ceiling drywall

Patching, corner-bead repair, and texture matching for interior drywall — including openings that need to blend into an existing wall or ceiling finish.

  • Holes, cracks & water-damaged sections
  • Wall and ceiling patch repair
  • Orange-peel, knockdown, skip-trowel & smooth-wall matching
  • Interior wall and ceiling drywall repair — holes, cracks, water-damaged sections, and corner-bead damage — with texture matching so the patch blends into the surrounding surface.
  • Ceiling access cuts, water-stained sections, and sagging or damaged drywall — including the texture blending that ceiling patches usually need more than wall patches do.
  • Exterior stucco cracks, holes, and impact damage, patched and textured to match the surrounding finish — including repairs around pipes, vents, doors, and windows.
  • Drywall and stucco openings left after plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, or solar work — patched and texture-matched once the underlying trade issue is resolved.
  • One call for both drywall and stucco damage. Same-day completion is considered case-by-case based on size, access, drying time, and texture matching — never guaranteed in advance.

What to expect from an opening to a paint-ready wall

1. Describe or photograph it

Tell us the location, approximate size, and what caused the damage. A photo lets us evaluate the repair and whether same-day service may be realistic before we arrive.

2. Protect & patch

We protect the surrounding area, then patch the drywall or stucco — cutting back to solid material where the damage requires it.

3. Texture match & paint-ready

The patch is textured to match the existing finish and left paint-ready. Drying time and texture matching are the biggest factors in whether same-day completion is realistic.

Why a trade-access opening needs more than filling the hole

When a plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, roofer, or solar installer opens a wall or ceiling to reach a pipe, wire, duct, or roofline, the opening they leave behind is usually a different shape and depth than a typical drywall repair. Fixing it well means cutting back to solid, sound material, patching in new drywall or stucco, and matching the surrounding texture — not just spreading compound over the gap.

It also matters whether the original issue is actually resolved. If the opening exists because of an active leak, an unfinished electrical or HVAC job, or ongoing roof or solar work, that underlying problem should be addressed before the wall or ceiling is closed back up — otherwise the same section may need to be reopened later.

Orange-peel, knockdown, skip-trowel & smooth-wall repairs

A patch that’s structurally solid but textured wrong still reads as an obvious repair. We match common San Diego wall and ceiling textures — orange-peel, knockdown, skip-trowel, and smooth-wall — along with common stucco textures, so the repaired section blends into the surrounding surface rather than standing out.

Same-day feasibility

Whether a repair can be completed the same day depends on the size of the opening, access, drying time for compound or stucco, and how closely the texture needs to match — not a fixed promise for every job.

Wall vs. ceiling patches

Ceiling repairs often need more texture-blending work than wall repairs, since ceiling textures and lighting angles make mismatched patches more visible.

Drywall vs. stucco

Interior drywall and exterior stucco use different repair materials and techniques, but both rely on matching the existing texture for a clean result.

Common questions

Yes — Rapid Repair handles interior drywall and exterior stucco repair, including combined jobs where a trade-access opening affects both.
Yes. Repairing trade-access openings — drywall or stucco — is one of our most common jobs, and we texture-match the patch to the surrounding surface.
No. Same-day is the service we aim for and often achieve, but it depends on the size of the opening, access, drying time, and texture matching. We’ll give you a realistic expectation on the call.
A clear photo of the damage from a couple feet away, plus a wider shot showing its location on the wall or ceiling, helps us evaluate the repair and same-day feasibility before we arrive.
